The final DELICROMAR project conference was held on 22 and 23 November 2018 in Zagreb at the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts as the host institution of the project. The conference was organised by the Scientific Council for Government Administration, Judicature and the Rule of Law and the Adriatic Institute of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts and co-organised by the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Croatia.
The project team members presented the results of their research on the project. A number of experts from Croatia, Italy, Spain, Malta, Montenegro and the Netherlands, who have gathered around the project and contributed to its goals through their valuable co-operation with the project team, participated as invited speakers. They contribute to the conference with a comparative law perspective.
The expected audience at the event included representatives of the marina industry, charterers, competent public authorities, judiciary, local insurance market, lawyers and academics from Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro and Italy.
The opening speaches were delivered by Capt Siniša Orlić, Assistant Minister of the Sea Transport and Infrastructure, Mr Ivo Bašić, Secretary General of the Ministry of Tourism and Mr Sean Lisjak, President of the Association of Croatian Marinas of the Croatian Chamber of Economy.
The conference was chaired by Professor Jakša Barbić, PhD, Chairman of the Scientific Council and Vice President of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
After a presentation of the overall project results by Dr Adriana Padovan as principal researcher and an overview of the sustainable development of nautical tourism in the Adriatic by Dr Siniša Horak and MSc Zrinka Marušić of the Institute for Tourism, the project collaborators delivered their lectures on the major project topics covered by the reasearch project. Distinguished invited speakers addressed a number of special legal issues from their area of expertise.
The papers presented at the conference will be published in the Book No. 47 of the Book Series Modernisation of Law of the Scientific Council for Government Administration, Judicature and the Rule of Law.
