Dr. Padovan recently had a privilege to meet Dr. Roberto Perocchio, the President of ASSOMARINAS and the Chair of Icomia Marinas Group. The meeting was held on the 30th September at the administrative seat of ASSOMARINAS in Cavallino-Treporti. In a long interview, Dr. Perocchio gave a comprehensive overview of all relevant legal issues related to marina projects in Italy, with a special focus on the issues concerning the regime of concessions on maritime domain in Italy and with regards to the particular historical and economic background determining the course of development and the present status of nautical tourism and pleasure navigation in Italy. He also gave guidelines and provided certain relevant documentation valuable for further research of comparative Italian law. ASSOMARINAS covers all Italy and the association constantly deals with the relevant legal issues, taking part to the legislative process in most cases in Italy. Furthermore, Dr. Perocchio has been actively involved for many years in the work of ICOMIA, the world organisation of boatyards and marinas, where new legislative solutions are continuously discussed with the aim of supporting the development of marina industry on a global level. Therefore, Dr. Perrocchio's knowledge, expertise and assistance are of a vast value to the project, and are deeply appreciated. The cooperation with Dr. Perocchio and ASSOMARINAS has been established as a result of the initiative of the working group on nautical tourism set up within the cooperation of the Adriatic (Croatian, Italian and Slovenian) maritime law associations and with curtesy of Avv. Cristiano Alessandri who made first introduction of dr. Padovan to the association of Italian marinas.
