Prof. Maria Victoria Petit Lavall Joins the Project as a Foreign Researcher

Maria Victoria Petit Lavall, Director of the Institute for Transport Law (IDT), Universitat Jaume I (Castellon de la Plana, Spain) has joined the project DELICROMAR as a foreign researcher and external collaborator. Her immense contribution in the comparative law analysis, in particular of the relevant Spanish law, is of a great value for the project. 

 

Prof Petit Lavall is a Spanish national and has worked at the University since 1990. She has been a Full Professor of Commercial Law in Jaume I University since 2008. She holds Law Degree (1988), Business Studies Degree (1990) and PhD in Law (1993) from the University of Valencia. Prof. Petit Lavall has also been a substitute Judge for fifteen years. She is the author of around one hundred publications (articles in journals, participation in collective books) on various subjects of Commercial Law (Company Law, Banking Law, Insurance Law, Competition Law, Intellectual Property and mostly Transport Law), and has also directed and/or coordinated eleven collective works. Prof. Petit Lavall is a speaker at numerous courses, masters, PhD courses, seminars and conferences in Spain and abroad and has been a visiting Professor at the Universities of Bologna; San Carlos (Guatemala), UTEM (Santiago de Chile); Gabriel René Moreno in Santa Cruz de la Sierra (Bolivia), Autónoma of México, among others. She is a Member of the Editorial Board of the following journals: Revista de Derecho del Transporte; European Journal of Commercial Contract Law; Revista Aranzadi Civil doctrinal, La Ley Mercantil, Diritto dei Trasporti. She is also a member of the committees for the evaluation of the doctoral theses, research member and director of more than 15 research projects. Since 2014 she has been the Director of the Institute of Transport Law at Jaume I University.
